Fire safety training imparted to security personnel, retired cops

Madhya Pradesh police headquarters organised training on Thursday to control fire while maintaining their safety.

Imparting fire safety training to police officers and employees was conducted in view of the past fire accidents in various government offices of the state, special vigilance is required.

In the same sequence security personnel were given training to control fire while keeping themselves safe, training was conducted on the ground floor of the state police headquarters.

In the training related to fire control, a mock drill of extinguishing fire with modern equipment was also conducted.

During the mock drill, police personnel received training on how to easily extinguish the fire in liquid substances using fire extinguishers.

Security personnel received training to extinguish fire in buildings, houses, warehouses etc. by avoiding smoke and flames.

At the mock drill were DSP (Security) Police Headquarters Nadeem Ullah Khan, Security Incharge of Police Headquarters Mukesh Saini, Inspector Mohanlal Mehra and SI of Police Fire Station Mantralaya, Bhopal Roopchand Pandit and his team.

During the mock drill, information was given to the police officers and employees about the modern equipment used in extinguishing fires.

Information was shared about the collecting bridge, dividing bridge, fire main helmet, foam nozzle, fire extinguishing cylinder and cartridge, torch, revolving nozzle, universal branch, new light (branch), ordinary branch, adapter, net, fire main axe, lock cutter, proximity suit, aluminium suit, chemical suit, breathing operator set, life jacket, hose pipe, fire blanket, fire extinguisher etc.

During the training, SI Roopchand Pandit said that there are five types of fires, the method of extinguishing which is also different. He said that these have been placed in the category from A to E. Small fires in wood-coal have been placed in A class.

Fires in liquids are classified as B class, fires in gases are classified as C class, fires in metals are classified as D class and electric fires are classified as E class. All these fires are extinguished with the help of water or chemicals.
