Jharkhand Finance Minister Dr. Rameshwar Oraon laid the foundation stone of Bapu Vatika Park on Monday at 56 set Doranda Ranchi in the presence of senior Congress leaders Alok Kumar Dubey, Lal Kishore Nath Shahdev.

On this occasion, Jharkhand Finance Minister, while emphasizing the need for parks in all metropolitan cities of Jharkhand including Ranchi, said that the way environmental pollution is increasing in the present time, now the park is not just a place of entertainment but has become an essential requirement for environmental protection. Parks are actually working as the life breath of the environment at present, he added.

The Minister also said that in this era of urbanization when there is a shortage of vacant land, in such a situation, the park is the only place left where the elderly, women and children not only have this place for their health but also for entertainment and exercise, that is, the park is the only way to develop their health as well as mental health. Responding to questions from media persons, Dr Oraon said that this is the third park that is being dedicated to the city, first was Rajiv Gandhi Senior Citizen Park, second was Buddha Park and this third Bapu Vatika Park is being constructed, he is happy about this, he added.

Congress leader Dubey said on this occasion that keeping in view these noble objectives of the park, the park has been named "Bapu Vatika" by dedicating it to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.

On this occasion, Shahdev said that today is the auspicious day of Janmashtami and today the foundation stone of the park is being laid for the residents of the locality. "In the second phase, there is a plan for walking track, gazebo, swing, exercise equipment. There is so much population in big cities that space is left for parks in between and the residents of the locality use the park, take care of cleanliness so that a clean environment can be created," he added.

In the first phase, boundary wall and gate will be constructed for the park at the site marked for the park. After that, swings for small children, electrification, and beautification will be done in the park.

On the auspicious occasion of foundation stone laying, Sanjeet Yadav, Abhishek Sahu, Gopi Dubey, Mehul Dubey, Aniket Kumar, Rupa Rao, Sonali Kumari, Sanjay Tirkey, Vivek Kumar, Rohit Kumar, Sana Ullah Khan, Ajay Kumar, Rakesh Verma, Subhash Chhetri, Alok Kumar, Sarvesh Singh, Bharat Agarwal, Dilip Pandey, Ramesh Tiwari, Mohan Thapa, Subhash Sonar, Madan Shrestha, Sachin Kumar, Ashwani Kumar, Deepak Tamang played an active role in the Navy Dishela foundation stone laying program.
