DPS Bokaro alumnus Ayan Kumar Dey has made his school and state proud by securing All India Rank (AIR) 3 in the prestigious Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination (II), conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). In addition to his remarkable achievement in the Indian Naval Academy (INA) merit list, Ayan also secured AIR 17 for the Indian Military Academy (IMA).
Opting for the IMA, Ayan's training to join as a Lieutenant will commence in July 2024 in Dehradun. Previously, he earned a special entry through the NCC at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai, securing the 13th rank nationwide and being the sole candidate selected from Jharkhand.
The success of Ayan has created a jubilant atmosphere within the DPS Bokaro community. Principal Dr. A.S. Gangwar expressed his congratulations, highlighting Ayan’s achievement as an inspiration for future generations of students. Dr. Gangwar emphasized the school's commitment to providing opportunities that enable students to pursue their dreams.
Ayan’s educational journey includes completing his 12th standard at DPS Bokaro with an impressive 85.6% and securing a 10 CGPA in his 10th standard from Army Public School, Ramgarh. After obtaining his B.Tech in Bangalore, he worked as a software developer while simultaneously preparing for the CDS examination.
