DNLU organizes Justice RK Tankha national parliamentary debate

Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, successfully hosted the 4th Justice RK Tankha National Parliamentary Debate on November 9 and 10, 2024. The event was supported and sponsored by the Office of Shri. Varun Tankha, Advocate, Supreme Court of India.

This vibrant two-day event brought together over 48 teams from various institutions, who showcased their debating skills across three preliminary rounds on the first day and one preliminary round followed by semi-finals, novice finals, and final rounds on the second day.

Participants engaged in stimulating debates, rigorously deliberating on assigned themes and presenting well-rounded arguments. The event was a product of the combined efforts of students, faculty, and the administration, guided by invaluable leadership.

The Valedictory Ceremony marked the conclusion of the event, beginning with an address from Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, who commended the organizing committee and celebrated the enthusiastic participation of students nationwide.

The ceremony was followed by the inaugural Shastrartha Panel, where esteemed speakers-including Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh, Pro-Chancellor of IILM University; Prof. (Dr.) K.G. Suresh, President of the Global Media Education Council; Dr. Rakesh Pathak, Associate Editor at DBLive Channel; and Manwendra Kumar Tiwari, Associate Professor at DNLU who shared perspectives on "One Nation, One Election." This discussion encouraged the formation of diverse opinions on issues of national importance. The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Ashit Kumar Srivastava, Assistant Professor of Law.

The journalist from various print and digital media houses were also felicitated and honoured for their immense support in upholding the spirit of journalism during the panel discussion.

The 4th Justice RK Tankha Memorial National Parliamentary Debate set a high standard, leaving a lasting impact and exceeding expectations at DNLU. This achievement was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Ms. Swati Singh Parmar and Dr. Animesh Jha, Faculty In-Charge(s), along with his committed student team. The event was organized under the esteemed guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Manoj K. Sinha, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. (Dr.) Shailesh N. Hadli, Registrar and P, Dean of Student Welfare.
