District Collector orders cancellation of Atmosphere restaurant’s license

Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh has ordered the cancellation of the license of Atmosphere Restaurant located in MP Nagar, Bhopal for serving liquor illegally. This is the first such action in Bhopal during the Lok Sabha elections.

Along with this, 10 restaurants and hotels are also being investigated. Illegal liquor was seized from here also. Action can be taken on these also.

The Excise Department had taken action against the restaurant on April 20. During this time, liquor was being served to the customers without permission. Even a temporary license was not taken from the department. Due to this, a case was registered and presented before the Collector.

In this case, the operator's argument was that some customers had brought liquor during the weekend without my knowledge and that of the employees. Which was confiscated by the Excise Department.

On the other hand, department officials said that liquor had already been seized from the restaurant and a fine had also been imposed. This time too liquor was being served without permission. The Collector has ordered the restaurant to cancel the Gumashta issued by the Labor Department, the food license issued by the Food and Drug Administration Department and the business license issued by the Corporation with immediate effect.

Excise Controller Bhadauria said, recently Nature Cottage, Tree Chapter, White Orchid, CountrySide Restaurant, Jahaz Restaurant, GC Retreat on Raisen Road, Shamiana Aachman, Samrat Garden, Desi Tadka, Seven Oak on Vidisha Road, Chambal Dhaba in Neelbad, Action was also taken against Yuvraj Dhaba. Many people were found drinking alcohol illegally here. Liquor was seized and 80 cases were registered under Section 36(a/b) of Madhya Pradesh Excise Act 1915. Its cases have also been prepared.
