Over a hundred differently-abled artisans and entrepreneurs from all over the country are participating in a fair at the MLB Sports Complex in Jabalpur as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for the divinely-abled.
The fair, which allows the artisans to showcase their crafts and products, got underway on 17 October and will continue to enthrall visitors and shoppers until its conclusion on 27 October. The closing ceremony will be preceded by a colourful cultural programme for participants and visitors.
Besides helping the differently-abled craftsmen find new buyers for their wares, the 'Divya Kala Mela' also opens new vistas for the craftsmen-entrepreneurs, presenting them with an opportunity to interact with each other and create networks for the future promotion of their products.
The fair, hosted by the Department of Social Justice and Disabled Welfare in Madhya Pradesh, also includes a merit-based recruitment event for differently-abled job aspirants.
The divinely-abled participants and visitors to the multi-faceted event will also be presented with assistive devices and aids by the state government.The 'Divya Kala Mela' draws inspiration from Prime Minister Modi's welfare initiatives for the divinely-abled, whom he describes as an inspiration for the nation due to their unfailing vigour and dedication.
