Under the leadership of Dhar Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Singh, Dhar Police has achieved significant success in controlling and reducing the rate of incidents of serious crimes at the district as well as state and national level by taking continuous strict action against interstate level smugglers involved in illegal firearms manufacture, purchase and sale.
Dhar Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Singh, since his posting, has continuously taken major action against illegal fire arms in the last 02 years 2023 and 2024 and by running special campaigns against the manufacturers and smugglers of illegal fire arms in the entire district, a total of 330 accused have been arrested in 283 cases and a total of 734 illegal fire arms and 111 live cartridges have been seized from their possession.
Along with this, significant success was achieved in destroying a total of 13 factories manufacturing illegal fire arms, due to which there has been a huge reduction in the graph of serious crimes in the district as well as at the state and national level.
In Dhar district, people of Sikligar community reside in village Baria of Thana Gandhwani, village Singhana of Thana Manawar, Bakaner, village Lalbag of Thana Dhamanod, Indra Colony of Thana Amjhera, village Talawadi of Thana Kukshi and Sanjay Colony of Thana Rajgarh. Most of the people of this community are illiterate and have been engaged in the work of making iron tools and weapons such as swords, knives, spears, locks and keys etc. since generations.
Some of them have become active in the illegal trade of manufacturing and selling illegal firearms (desi katta, revolver, pistol etc.) in the past few years and are earning illegal economic benefits by supplying illegal firearms in Madhya Pradesh state as well as other states of the country, especially Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Karnataka, Telangana etc.
