Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, a Judge in Jharkhand High Court, has opened Legal Literacy Clubs in all 72 DAV Schools in Jharkhand. He also launched a project called "Suraksha". He is also the Executive Chairman of JHALSA.
Before this, Legal Literacy Clubs were already in two schools in Garhwa and Bhawnathpur.
Judge Abhinav Tripathi from Garhwa Civil Court was the chief guest at the opening of the Legal Literacy Club at DAV School in Garhwa. ACJM Nagar Untari Arvind Kachhap was the chief guest at the Bhawnathpur DAV School event.
After the opening at DAV Garhwa, Abhinav Tripathi said that the Legal Literacy Clubs will teach students about their legal rights and duties. They will also learn how to get legal help. The clubs aim to help students fight gender injustice, make it easier to get legal services, encourage thinking about legal issues, and make sure everyone knows their legal rights and responsibilities.
Deputy Chief LADC Nityanand Dubey said that the organisation does many things to promote legal awareness. These include workshops, seminars, and talks on legal topics. They also hold debate and essay competitions. They provide legal aid information and give out leaflets on legal rights and procedures. They also give legal awareness talks on topics like child labour, child marriage, bullying, and road safety.
Advocate Premchand Tiwari said that making the club stronger would help provide legal advice to poor people and those in need.
R K Sinha, the school's principal, added that these clubs would greatly improve public knowledge of different laws.
Teacher Amiya Mukherjee, teacher Anil Kumar Pandey, DLSA staff Pramod Kumar Dubey, PLV Murli Shyam Tiwari, Suryadev Chaudhary, Ram Kumar Ram, and many other teachers and students also attended the event.
