DGP holds meeting to control crime in Capital city

Director General and Inspector General of Police Ajay Kumar Singh chaired a review meeting regarding sensitive crimes committed in the last three years in the capital Ranchi, updated status of investigation and law and order in the Police Headquarters auditorium on Monday.

Inspector General of Police Ranchi, Deputy Inspector General of Police South Region Ranchi, Senior Superintendent of Police Ranchi, Superintendent of Police City, Superintendent of Police Rural and Superintendent of Police Traffic along with all Deputy Superintendents of Police posted in Ranchi district participated in this meeting.

The DGP did a comparative crime review of the main crime heads constituted in the state, in which a comparative review of the total cognizable crimes of the last three years including murder, robbery, loot, housebreaking, theft, kidnapping for ransom and rape heads were discussed and necessary instructions were given. During the meeting, he took complete information about the action taken for crime control in Ranchi district and instructed to keep special vigil on budding criminals, trace the drug network and reach the last criminal involved in it and take strict action against him, identify and take action against drug peddlers selling drugs around educational institutions, and also put a stop to land dispute cases.

During the meeting, a presentation was made by the DIG, Ranchi on the sensitive crimes committed in Ranchi during the last three years, in which, apart from action taken against the sensitive cases that happened in recent days, pending cases in various police stations, activities of organized criminal gangs active in the capital Ranchi and their members were discussed and the DGP was informed about the concrete strategies made to take action against the big criminals who commit crimes like murder, robbery, dacoity, kidnapping and extortion.

The DGPdirected the Senior Superintendent of Police/Superintendent of Police City/Superintendent of Police Rural and Superintendent of Police Traffic Ranchi to control the current situation of crime and law and order in the district and also directed to curb petty crimes by doing intensive vehicle checking by changing time and place in the entire district.

He expressed his anguish over the incidents of chain snatching and snatching incidents continuously happening in Ranchi district and directed to put a complete stop to it. Also, expressing anger over the recent incident of Extreme Sports Bar & Grill, Chutia, he gave strict instructions to verify all the bars falling under all police station areas, check them with breath analyser after 11:00 pm, check the criminal history of the bouncers working in all the bars and the police to pay special attention to night patrolling and said that strict action would be taken against negligent police officers/personnel.

In this meeting, Dr. Sanjay Anand Rao Lathkar, ADG, Operations, Akhilesh Jha, IG, Ranchi, Amol Vinukant Homkar, IG, Operations, Anup Birthare, DIG, Ranchi, Chandan Kumar Sinha, SSP, Ranchi, Rajkumar Mehta, SP, City, Ranchi, Kailash Karmali, SP, Rural, Ranchi, Sumit Kumar Agarwal, SP, Traffic, Ranchi and other police officers were present.
