Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav chaired a review meeting at the Collectorate office to assess the progress of various schemes under the Aspirational District Program. The meeting was attended by key officials, including Deputy Development Commissioner Girija Shankar Prasad, District Planning Officer Raj Kumar Sharma, District Social Welfare Officer Purnima Kumari, Hospital Superintendent Dr. Arvind Kumar, District Education Superintendent Atul Kumar Chaubey, NITI Aayog Young Professional Tanya Gupta, Assistant Public Relations Officer Avinash Kumar, and representatives from the Piramal Foundation, among others.

During the meeting, Jadhav reviewed the progress across the five key dimensions set by NITI Aayog: Health and Nutrition, Education, Agriculture and Water Resources, Financial Inclusion and Skill Development, and Basic Infrastructure. She expressed dissatisfaction with the unsatisfactory results in the health and nutrition sector, particularly in the B.S. City, Jaridih, Nawadih, Bermo, and Kasmar blocks. She directed the concerned officials to seek explanations from the Civil Surgeon and District Social Welfare Officer regarding the inadequate performance in ANC checkups, nutrition distribution, and malnutrition eradication.

Jadhav emphasized the importance of the upcoming awareness program scheduled for 9th July, which will be organized by JSLPS at the cluster and village organization levels across all blocks. The program aims to educate women on the importance of ANC checkups, the consumption of nutritious food, and measures to combat malnutrition. Health and social welfare department personnel will participate in the program to provide necessary guidance.

Highlighting the need for immediate improvement, Jadhav noted that while the district has shown satisfactory performance in several dimensions, there are areas requiring urgent attention. She urged senior officials to enhance their efforts and ensure collective action towards achieving the targets. The DDC was instructed to conduct regular reviews and monitoring of the progress.
