On Saturday, District Election Officer (DEO) cum Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vijaya Jadhav conducted an inspection at the Chikasia Post Office in the Chas block, following complaints of dumped EPIC cards. Upon arrival with her team, she discovered a large number of Aadhaar cards, along with various letters from banks, PAN cards, and speed post/registered letters from insurance companies, all dumped at the post office.
DC Vijaya Jadhav expressed deep displeasure over the situation and directed the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Chas, who was present at the scene, to inform the Postal Superintendent and take action against the responsible staff member. Several locals also complained that the post office does not operate on time.
Additionally, the DC Jadhav instructed all Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) to regularly inspect post offices within their areas and ensure the distribution of EPIC cards by coordinating with postal staff.
