Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Jamuar and Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Pandey chaired a peace committee meeting of the district at New Collectorate building, on Tuesday, ahead of Ramnavami and Eid festivals.  Deputy Commissioner  an appeal has been made to all religious leaders for cooperation in maintaining peace in the city.

“Regular communication is being made with all religious leaders as well as prominent people in every area. They have been asked to inform police immediately about any rumour or presence of suspicious elements,” he said.

 A strict vigil is also being kept on social media. If anyone is found spreading rumours strict action will be taken, the DC said.

Cleanliness would be maintained by Nagar Council at their area. The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned Executive Engineer to ensure the availability of electricity, health and drinking water supply during the festivals and also asked the fire brigade to be ready with its preparations.
