In a bid to cultivate a culture of electoral literacy, D.A V. Public School, Sec-IV, B.S. City orchestrated a week-long awareness campaign culminating in a dynamic "street play" performed at key public venues.
Led by Principal Sarbendu Sekhar Kar, the Electoral Literacy Club orchestrated a series of engaging activities within the school premises. Kicking off with a solemn voter's pledge ceremony involving both faculty and staff, the initiative evolved into a diverse range of events, including a poster-writing competition and a captivating street play.
Extending their advocacy beyond school boundaries, students brought the message of "Voter's Voting right" to the masses through compelling street plays staged at prominent public locations like Naya More and Chas. Adorned in pristine white uniforms with scarlet scarves, students wielded powerful placards bearing messages like "Each One, Vote One" and "Now or never," garnering positive responses from the public.
The inclusivity of the street play, featuring a blend of local dialects, Hindi, and English, ensured accessibility to all segments of society. Principal Kar commended the students' exceptional dedication and acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the Election Commission of India and Sveep coordinators in amplifying the school's initiatives through the #MainBhiElectionAmbassador Campaign.
