Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta on Sunday appealed to the public to ask AAP leaders about the failures of the ruling government over the past 10 years while demanding a special session of the assembly for answering the questions.

Addressing a press conference, Gupta appealed to the public to ask AAP leaders why citizens over 70 years of age in Delhi are not receiving benefits from the ‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme and raised the question of why 90,000 poor people in Delhi are not being issued ration cards.

“Show them the garbage in their neighborhoods, the broken roads, clogged sewers, drinking water issues, and ask why pollution in Delhi is so high. Ask them why Yamuna is so polluted, why stubble burning in Punjab cannot be prevented, why Delhi’s transport system has deteriorated so badly, how the Delhi Jal Board ended up in a 73,000-crore deficit, why sewage treatment plants were not set up, and why CAG reports are not being presented in the Assembly,” he said.

The LoP remarked that the AAP has now become a party of deceit. “Misleading people and making false promises has become their habit. The government is also deceiving the marshals. Ignoring the order issued by the Lieutenant Governor on November 1 to deploy 10,000 defense volunteers on pollution control duty, the government is politicizing this issue,” he added.

Gupta alleged that Atishi’s accusations against the BJP are mere theatrics, and she does not want the marshals to be deployed. He pointed out that in the October 5 meeting with the Lieutenant Governor, it was decided to set up a committee to regularize the marshals through a formal proposal.

“However, she has taken no action on this decision for a month and has not acted even after the Lieutenant Governor’s order on October 24. This clearly shows that the Delhi government neither wants to deploy nor regularize these marshals. The delay tactics are evidence of their lack of commitment,” he claimed.

The LoP demanded a special session of the Assembly to address these issues and provide answers to the public. “The people deserve to know how the AAP has become completely incompetent and has been deceiving them for the past decade. It is time to remove them from power,” he asserted.
