Congress releases manifesto: ‘Seven Promises-Firm Intension’

Congress released its manifesto on Tuesday with the title ‘Seven promises- firm intentions’. The special thing in this is that Congress has promised to provide employment to 10 lakh youth. Along with bringing 1932 based locality policy, it has also promised to implement Sarna tribal religion code.

The party has said in its manifesto that it is committed to give 28 percent reservation to ST, 12 percent to SC, 27 percent to OBC and protect the interests of minorities. It is also committed to form backward class welfare ministry, ration distribution will be done at 7 kg per person and gas cylinder will be given to every poor family of the state for Rs 450, 10 lakh youth of Jharkhand will be provided jobs and employment. Family health insurance up to Rs 15 lakh will be given, degree colleges will be established in all blocks of the state and engineering, medical colleges and universities will be established in district headquarters. Along with this, industrial parks of 500 acres each will be built in all district headquarters of the state by bringing industrial promotion policy to provide employment opportunities. MSP of paddy will be increased from Rs 2400 to Rs 3200 and support price of lac sal seeds etc. will be increased by 50 percent. Support price of tamarind, mahua, vironji sal seeds etc. will be increased by up to 50 pratishat.

Main resolutions of the manifesto are Free electricity for poor families will be increased from 200 units to 250 units per month. Also, free electricity will be provided for agriculture work, paddy purchase price will be increased from Rs 2400 per quintal to Rs 3200 per quintal, caste census will be conducted and creamy layer will be increased to 10 lakhs, those who were listed in SC community in undivided Bihar were listed as general after the formation of the state, who will be given SC status again, a proposal to include "Ho", "Gundaari", Kharia, "Kudukh" and "Kudmali" languages in the 8th schedule will be sent to the central government, the traditional self-governance system of the tribals will be implemented in its original form, to increase the level of education, the number of excellent English medium schools will be increased in every block, to promote sports, training in schools will be arranged through sports organizations and all government job vacancies will be filled in one year.
