Newly elected Khunti and Lohardaga Congress Lok Sabha MPs Kalicharan Munda and Sukhdev Bhagat were felicitated at the Congress headquarters under Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) Chief, Rajesh Thakur on Wednesday.
The State Congress In-Charge, Ghulam Ahmed Mir was present as the chief guest on this occasion. On this occasion, both the MPs were welcomed by giving them bouquets, garlands and a copy of the Constitution.
In his address on this occasion, Mir said that the issue of India Alliance in this election was for the common man, it was a fight to save their rights, a fight to protect the Constitution, it fought well on all the seats with people’s support, it had high expectations but fell short. “We will study the fewer seats than the target in detail so that those shortcomings can be removed in the future. He said that a complete review of the responsibilities given to those in this election will be done and cognizance will also be taken of those who were not successful in discharging their responsibilities,” he added.
Mir also said that those who have done good work in the elections will be identified and given due respect and those who showed indifference even after getting the position from the party will be identified.
On the occasion Thakur said that the people of Jharkhand have given us respect. “They have chosen the representatives of Congress to raise their voice in the country's parliament and by strengthening the concept of Sarva Samaj, they will become the voice of the people of not only a particular region but the entire Jharkhand. We got a little less numbers than we expected but whatever we got was very strong. The India alliance will continue to raise the voice of the rights of the people with strength and will raise its voice for Jharkhand in the country's house through them,” he added.
Lohardaga MP Sukhdev Bhagat said that this victory is the victory of the people, the victory of Rahul Gandhi's efforts. Elections are like a war and with everyone's collective efforts and under the guidance of the state leadership, we have achieved success in this election, he added. Expressing gratitude to everyone, he said that the bigger the victory, the bigger the responsibility and I will discharge my responsibility very well.
