Former MP and senior Congress leader Dr. Ajoy Kumar has reiterated the Congress party's commitment to safeguarding the homes of 150 families in Bhuiyadih. In a recent statement, Dr. Kumar highlighted the proactive measures taken by the Congress to address the issue, which has caused unrest among some political opponents.
Dr. Kumar criticized those who question the Congress party's efforts, urging them to reflect on their own actions. "Before raising questions on the work done by someone, it is appropriate to look at your own work. A person should also have human sensitivity to wipe the tears of poor people and stand with them in times of sorrow. The problem is not solved by just raising questions and ridiculing others," he remarked. He challenged the critics to disclose how many times they had met with the affected families in Kalyan Nagar and Indira Nagar over the past five years and what initiatives they had taken to support them.
He specifically called out those questioning the Congress workers, asking them to explain their actions when the initial survey order for the 150 houses was issued during the tenure of the then Deputy Commissioner, Manjunath Bhajantri.
Dr. Kumar affirmed that the Congress party is dedicated to providing real relief to the people, not just making empty statements. He mentioned that the party is seeking legal opinions on the matter and has engaged with the Attorney General, who assured that an affidavit would soon be filed in the National Green Tribunal (NGT) by the government. On Thursday, Congress workers commenced the process of filing a petition in the Ranchi High Court to obtain an immediate stay on the issue, following consultations with legal experts.
"It is appropriate to give a statement after having full knowledge of the facts. Otherwise, the statement remains only a newspaper statement," Dr. Kumar asserted. He emphasized that they had written to the Deputy Commissioner seeking the basis of the NGT order, to better prepare for the legal battle ahead.
