The Congress in Chhattisgarh will gherao the state Assembly on Wednesday (July 24) to protest against the alleged deteriorating law and order situation and other issues.
Congress’ Chhattisgarh in-charge Sachin Pilot and state Congress chief Deepak Baij and scores of senior leaders including former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will take part in the protest.
The party leaders will assemble at Mandi Gate area and then move towards the Assembly.
Ahead of the protest, Chhattisgarh Police have ordered traffic diversion on several routes.
Commuters heading to Mowa or Daldal Seoni from Pandri or Devendra Nagar area can travel via Devendra Nagar-Mandi Gate Chowk-Kapa Railway Crossing- Overbridge Service Road.
Those coming to Raipur from Mowa and Daldal-Seoni can travel via Mowa Overbridge-Avantibai Chowk- Crystal Orchid Road-Shankar Nagar Chowk.
Motorists entering the state capital from Ama-Seoni and Saddu can travel via VIP turning-route opposite Ashoka Ratan apartment-Shriram Nagar overbridge-Shankar Nagar Chowk.
People coming to the city from Balodabazar can take the canal road near DPS School towards Baradera-Ring Road No 3-Raju Dhaba-National Highway-Telibandha Police Station-Raipur city.
The main routes between the tri-junction near Gyanganga School and the Pandri main road in the city will be closed for commuters.
