In a commendable act of compassion, the Jharkhand Animal Welfare Society (JAWS) has come forward to treat a badly injured cow near TR Type Masjid Road in Bistupur. The cow was injured a few days ago after being hit by an uncontrolled car.
Upon learning about the cow's condition, JAWS member Vivek Gupta quickly set up a temporary shelter at the accident site to provide immediate care. Under Mr. Gupta's supervision, the cow is receiving necessary medical treatment. Additionally, he has arranged for food to ensure the cow's nutritional needs are met during its recovery period.
The news of the cow’s plight circulated widely on social media, capturing the attention and hearts of many. Harsh Kumar Jha, a senior citizen and former Managing Director of Tata Metaliks Company (now Tata Steel), generously donated seven thousand rupees to the society fund specifically for the cow’s treatment. Similarly, Brigadier PK Jha, a retired officer from the Indian Army, contributed twenty-one hundred rupees to aid in the recovery efforts.
Dr. Arun Kumar Jha, President of JAWS, expressed his gratitude towards the donors and emphasized the importance of community support in such endeavors. "The outpouring of support from our community is truly heartwarming. It reflects the collective empathy we have for animals in distress," Dr. Jha remarked. He also highlighted the necessity for drivers to exercise caution to prevent such incidents in the future.
In light of this incident, JAWS is urging all city residents to drive their vehicles more slowly and carefully, especially in areas where animals are frequently seen. The society hopes this appeal will help reduce the number of such unfortunate accidents.
The proactive efforts by JAWS and the generous contributions from community members like Harsh Kumar Jha and Brigadier PK Jha underscore the strong sense of responsibility and care that exists within the community towards animal welfare. The ongoing treatment and care of the injured cow stand as a testament to what can be achieved when society comes together for a common cause.
