Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday paid homage at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, lauding the unparalleled sacrifice of Chotta Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, along with Mata Gujri Ji. Mann emphasized that their martyrdom continues to inspire generations to rise against tyranny, oppression, and injustice. 
 
Calling the sacrifices of Chotta Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri Ji unprecedented in human history, the Chief Minister highlighted Punjab’s reverence for December as the ‘month of mourning’. He noted that the Sahibzadas’ courage, demonstrated when they were bricked alive by tyrannical rulers, remains a source of global pride for Punjabis and humanity at large. 
 
Acknowledging the sanctity of Fatehgarh Sahib, Mann described the annual Shaheedi Jor Mela as a significant event to honour these martyrs. He stressed that the Sahibzadas’ valour and steadfastness were inherited from their father, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who fought tirelessly for humanity. The Chief Minister noted that Punjab’s history is rich with sacrifices inspired by the teachings of great Gurus like Guru Arjun Dev Ji, Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, and Guru Gobind Singh Ji, all of whom stood for justice and righteousness. 
 
Mann underlined the importance of educating younger generations about these sacrifices to instill values of courage, selflessness, and patriotism. Recalling his time as a Member of Parliament, he mentioned how he ensured that the Lok Sabha paid tributes to the Chotta Sahibzadas on their martyrdom day, showcasing their bravery and fearlessness in resisting the Mughal Governor of Sirhind at a tender age. 
 
The Chief Minister affirmed his government’s commitment to serve the people of Punjab by following the ideals of the Sikh Gurus and martyrs. He vowed to leave no stone unturned in ensuring the welfare of every section of society, drawing inspiration from the unparalleled sacrifices that define Punjab’s glorious history.
