Plastic Surgeons’ Annual Conference

Plastic surgeons of Bihar and Jharkhand met in their 13th annual conference at Jamshedpur. About 74 delegates participated under the leadership of Dr VSP Sinha of Jamshedpur. Dr Ajoy Kumar Singh was honoured with Lifetime achievement award for his leadership and contribution to plastic surgery in these two states. He had worked very hard to create awareness and to promote plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr Arvind Prakash, Dr Anant Sinha, Dr Raj Kumar Pathak, Dr Tanmay Prasad, Dr Vikrant Ranjan, Dr Prince Gupta and Dr Priyanka Kerketta presented their papers. Dr Milind Wagh from Mumbai and Dr Subodh Singh from Varanasi were the guests to the conference. Dr Ajoy Kr Singh thanked the entire medical faculty of Bihar and Jharkhand for this honour and promised to guide us in future.

SBPS students qualify for RMO

The students of Sarala Birla Public School, Ranchi, demonstrated remarkable excellence in the Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM) 2024. Shlok Singh of Class X and Janvi Sinha of Class XI have successfully qualified for the Regional Mathematics Olympiad (RMO). Principal Paramjit Kaur, conveyed her heartfelt congratulations to the students and wished them tremendous success in the upcoming round.

DPS Ranchi hosts Workshop on Substance Abuse

Delhi Public School Ranchi hosted an enlightening workshop for students of Classes VIII, IX, and XI which focused on "Substance Abuse and Phone Usage in Relation to Mental Health." This initiative, organized by the Mental Health Club of DPS Ranchi in collaboration with the Centre for Addiction, Psychiatry and Drug De-addiction Programme at the Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi, took place in the Vivekananda Auditorium. The workshop was part of a larger initiative supported by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, aimed at addressing the growing concerns regarding mental health issues among adolescents. Dr. Abhijeet Singh, an expert in psychiatric social work, shared his insights on alcohol and other drug-related mental health issues affecting adolescents and young adults. His discussion shed light on the psychological impacts of substance use, emphasizing the importance of early intervention and support systems. Trusha Shanbhag, currently pursuing her PhD in Clinical Psychology, addressed the critical issue of smartphone addiction and its associated mental health challenges. Her presentation highlighted the risks of excessive screen time and the need for balanced usage among young people.
