As part of the Government of India’s Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 Special Campaign 4.0, Bokaro Steel Plant and the Jharkhand Group of Mines successfully carried out an extensive cleanliness drive. During this campaign, over 60,000 square feet of space was cleared by disposing of recyclable metal and non-metal scrap. Additionally, over 2,000 physical files and nearly 2,000 e-files were reviewed as part of record management, with 950 physical files and 1,900 e-files disposed of.
The plant and township also organized 12 comprehensive cleanliness drives, ensuring a cleaner and more organized workplace. Several departments streamlined operations by reducing redundant regulations, contributing to process simplification.
The campaign extended beyond the plant premises, reaching 18 villages near the Gua Iron Ore Mines, where awareness drives were conducted in schools to educate students about the importance of cleanliness. Headmasters were provided with cleanliness kits containing dustbins, buckets, brooms, cleaning materials, hand towels, soap, and other essential items.
This initiative underlines Bokaro Steel Plant’s commitment to promoting cleanliness, sustainability, and operational efficiency, aligning with the goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission. The collective efforts of employees and community participation highlight the importance of maintaining hygiene and sustainability in workplaces and surrounding areas.
