Bokaro's election nomination process kicks off

Wednesday, 23 October 2024 | PNS | BOKARO

The nomination process for the upcoming assembly elections in Bokaro has officially commenced, following the issuance of a notification today. District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vijaya Jadhav led a press conference at the Collectorate Auditorium, where she shared details about the nomination schedule and guidelines, highlighting her proactive commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process.

With nominations open until October 29, candidates can submit their papers at designated offices between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Constituencies 36 Bokaro and 37 Chandankiyari will file their nominations at the Chas Subdivision office, while candidates for 34 Gomia and 35 Bermo will submit theirs at the Bermo Subdivision office.

Jadhav outlined specific regulations for the nomination process, including a limit of three vehicles allowed within 100 meters of the nomination office and restricting entry to only five individuals, including the candidate.

To enhance voter engagement, Jadhav also announced the launch of the helpline service "Dial 1950," operational daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, aimed at addressing election-related queries and complaints. This initiative reflects administrative dedication to making the electoral process accessible and transparent.

Jadhav emphasized the importance of civic participation, urging all eligible citizens to make their voices heard in the upcoming elections. "Every vote counts, and democracy thrives when all citizens exercise their rights. Let’s come together and cast our votes on November 20, 2024," she urged, appealing for maximum voter turnout.

Moreover, Jadhav reassured the public about the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct. Surveillance teams, flying squads, and a control room have been established to monitor election activities, ensuring compliance with regulations. She encouraged voters to report any violations promptly using the C-VIGIL app.

With a registered voter base of 14,87,103, including 33 transgender voters, Jadhav's active leadership has fostered a sense of accountability and fairness in the election process. Her focus on inclusivity and transparency has garnered praise, as she and her team work diligently to provide voters with the necessary information and a secure environment as they approach the polls.
