BJP State President and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi and Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri have welcomed the announcement of election dates for Jharkhand by the Election Commission. Marandi said that the people of Jharkhand, who have been troubled by unemployment, infiltration, crime, corruption, bad governance, appeasement, oppression of Dalit-tribal-backward society and the jungle raj of JMM-Congress RJD in the last 5 years, now want change.
This election is to save the identity of the bread, daughter and soil of Jharkhand. This election is to save the existence of the tribal society from intruders. This election is to provide jobs, employment and justice to young friends. This election is to provide the poor, farmers, women of Jharkhand their rights. This election is to save Jharkhand!
“I have full faith that in this assembly election, the voters of Jharkhand will form a public welfare government by giving a massive majority to the Bharatiya Janata Party and NDA alliance under the leadership of respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” said Marandi.
Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri said that the final countdown for the departure of the tyrannical and highly corrupt JMM-Congress-RJD government of Jharkhand has begun. This decision of holding elections in two phases is welcome.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday announced the schedule for the 2024 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly elections. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar revealed that voting for the 81 assembly seats will take place in two phases—on November 13 and November 20. The counting of votes will be done on November 23.
In the last assembly elections in 2019, voting took place in five phases from November 30 to December 20, with the results declared on December 21. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) secured 30 seats, the Congress 16, and the BJP won 25. The AJSU Party gained two seats, while Babulal Marandi's JVM(P) won three. Two months after the election, in February 2020, Marandi merged his JVM party with the BJP.

JMM nervous with poll dates : Shahdeo
BJP's state spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo welcomed the Election Commission's announcement of holding elections in two phases and said that Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is objecting to it without any reason. Pratul said that it is clearly mentioned in the constitution that the Election Commission is capable of holding elections in the states where elections are to be held 6 months in advance. This government has ruled Jharkhand with loot and corruption for 59 months. Then why is it so restless for one month? Pratul said that many times even Chief Minister Hemant Soren has said that we are ready for elections at any time. Then why this restlessness after the announcement of elections? Pratul said that they actually know that every section of society in Jharkhand which they have cheated, is ready to hurt this government through votes.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha led government knows that this will be their last government in Jharkhand. Because in 5 years this state has seen corruption, women harassment, breaking of promises with the youth, loot, exploitation, and scams. Now the public wants freedom from all this.
