The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday released its first list of 67 candidates for the Haryana assembly elections, with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini to contest the Ladwa seat. Former Haryana Minister Anil Vij has been fielded from the Ambala Cantt Assembly constituency, Minister Mool Chand Sharma from Ballabhgarh, while BJP Rajya Sabha MP Kiran Choudhury's daughter Shruti Chaudhury has got the party ticket to contest the Tosham seat, a party release said.
It further stated that the party has fielded former Haryana BJP president Om Prakash Dhankar from Badli, Ram Kumar Gautam from Safidon and Anoop Dhanak from Uklana, Deepak Hooda from Meham, Sunita Duggal from Rati, Gian Chand Gupta from Panchkula, Kanwar Pal Gurjar from Jagadhri, Bhavya Bishnoi from Adampur, and Tejpal Tanwar from Sohna. Ambala Mayor and former Union Minister Vinod Sharma's wife Shakti Rani Sharma, will contest the election from the Kalka assembly constituency
Devender Singh Babli, Sanjay Kablana who joined the BJP recently, will contest from the Tohana and Beri seats, respectively. Union minister Rao Inderjit Singh's daughter Arti Singh Rao will contest from Ateli. The names of Capt Abhimanyu and Bhavya Bishnoi, the son of Kuldeep Bishnoi are also on the list.
Union minister and former Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said, "A list of 67 candidates has been issued. Seats have been allocated to almost all senior candidates. The remaining seats will be cleared too and the list will be released in a few days."
JJP-ASP RELEASE FIRST LIST; DUSHYANT CHAUTALA TO CONTEST FROM UCHANA
Jannayak Janta Party-Azad Samaj Party on Wednesday released the first list of 19 party candidates for the Haryana Assembly polls, fielding former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala from Uchana Kalan, from where he is a sitting MLA. While 15 candidates in the list are from the JJP, four are from the Chandra Shekhar Azad-led ASP. Among the JJP candidates, party legislator Amarjeet Dhanda will seek re-election from the Julana assembly segment. The JJP has fielded Dushyant's brother and senior leader Digvijay Singh Chautala in Dabwali seat. The party has not named its candidate from Badhra where Dushyant's mother Naina Chautala is the sitting MLA. Former legislator Rajbir Phogat will contest from Charkhi Dadri. In the 2019 assembly polls, Dushyant Chautala had defeated Prem Lata, the wife of veteran leader Birender Singh who was with BJP at that time. Former Union minister Birender Singh, who is now in Congress, is likely to get the ticket in Uchana.
