Leader of Opposition Amar Bauri and Dhanbad MP Dhullu Mahto met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at Rail Bhavan, New Delhi on Wednesday to discuss the improvement of railway operations in the Dhanbad-Bokaro Lok Sabha and Chandankiyari Assembly constituencies.
The BJP leaders highlighted issues pertaining to Dhanbad and Bokaro districts of Jharkhand, which are key industrial regions. Notably Coal from the mines in these areas is sent to several states, and thousands of workers from Bokaro and Dhanbad travel daily to the mines and factories established there. Currently, rail lines and railway stations are established at Bhojudih and Gaurinath Dham. However, even after 75 years of independence, Chandanakiyari and Barmasia remain untouched by the railway line.
During the meeting it was suggested that If the Bhojudih-Gaurinath Dham via Chandanakiyari-Barmasia rail section is established, it would not only generate crores of rupees in revenue for the railways but also provide convenient rail travel for millions of workers. This would significantly reduce the heavy burden on road transport.
The entire discussion took place in a cordial environment, and the railway minister assured to review the matter positively.
