Big campaign against drugs to be started in Ranchi

An important meeting was organized on Thursday under the chairmanship of Superintendent of Police (City) Ranchi, Rajkumar Mehta and Sub-Divisional Officer (Sadar) Ranchi, Utkarsh Kumar to run a campaign against drugs in Ranchi district. In the meeting, a strategy was prepared to make school children and college students aware about the ill effects of drugs to make the youth aware by running a big campaign against drugs in Ranchi district.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ-1) Ranchi, Amar Kumar Pandey, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Chief-2) Ranchi, Arvind Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police Kotwali Ranchi, Prakash Soy, District Education Superintendent Ranchi, Mithlesh Kumar, District Education Officer Ranchi, Vinay Kumar were present in the meeting.

The action plan was made to make school children and college students aware about the ill effects of drugs, such as by running a big campaign against drugs in Ranchi district, students and youth will be made aware, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Kotwali) Ranchi, Prakash Soy has been nominated as the nodal for the campaign against drugs in Ranchi district, NCB. By contacting it, workshops related to this will be conducted in all the police stations of Ranchi district, all government, non-government schools, colleges, NGOs, intellectuals and street play groups will be included in this campaign, Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP) Ranchi and National Child Rights Protection, Principals of schools and colleges will be the nodal officers in this campaign and a large scale digital campaign will be run in this campaign. Publicity will be done through videos, songs, jingles, posters, pamphlets etc.

Mehta said in the meeting that according to the guidelines received by the district administration and police administration from the state government to make Ranchi district drug free, the concerned officials have been instructed about what strategies can be made to make Ranchi district drug free. Under our strategy, work will be done to involve the principals of schools, colleges, big educational institutions of Ranchi district in this campaign. Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP) Ranchi, RIMS, self-help groups, intellectuals and many street play performers will be included in this and a massive campaign will be conducted in Ranchi.

Utkarsh Kumar said in the meeting that drugs are a big problem among students and youth, which is ruining the young generation. "It is ruining the youth emotionally, socially, economically like cancer. A big awareness campaign will be run by involving all stakeholders in this, in which the help of experts will be taken about the ill effects of drugs," he added.
