The Bhopal Bicycle Riders Group, formed four years ago, aims to promote fitness through cycling. Starting with just 50 members, it has now grown to over 500, informed coordinator of the group Vinod Kumar on Friday.
Kumar said the goal is to make Bhopal a "cycling city." The group rides on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, covering 30-40 km on weekdays and up to 200 km on Sundays.
Beyond fitness, the group fosters friendships, with members enjoying stops for tea, sharing stories, and capturing scenic views along the way.
Safety is a priority, with a strict "no helmet, no ride" policy. The group also advises wearing gloves, glasses, and other safety gear. To join, individuals can either be referred by current members or join through social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram.
