Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai presented a budget of Rs 3353 crore for the 'Urban Government' on Tuesday. No tax has been increased in the budget. There is a provision of crores of rupees for development work in colonies that have been made legal from illegal.

At the same time, electric vehicles will also be purchased for door-to-door garbage collection. Rs 10 crore will be spent on this.

Fifty percent of the amount received in property tax will be spent in the same ward. Councillors will be able to give proposals for this and MIC will approve it. Rs 10 crore will be spent on the convention center and Rs 5 crore for beautifying the ponds.

For the first time, there is a proposal to build green gates on all the main roads of the capital. Rs 5 crore will be spent on this. Mini sports centers will also be built with the same amount and the intersections will also be beautified. Rs 15 crore will be spent for lighting the roads at night. Similarly, for the first time, children of corporation employees who appear in the merit list of 10th and 12th will get an incentive amount of Rs 5,000. This was started last year. In which only daughters are being given this amount. Mayor Rai said that from August 15, sons will also be given an incentive amount of Rs 5,000. Here, Leader of Opposition Shabista Zaki has described the budget as a 'new book in the old cover'.

Income and expenditure are estimated to be equal in the budget. In this financial year, the estimated income of the Municipal Corporation will be Rs 3353 crore and 16 thousand and the estimated expenditure will also be the same. However, there is also an estimate of 5 percent loss in revenue income. Due to this, a loss of Rs 98.80 crore is also possible. Leader of Opposition Shabista Zaki says that there is nothing new in the budget. The numbers of the points of last year's budget have been changed. The Mayor did not give an account of the previous budget and interim budget. The Rs 700 crore that have lapsed, have not even been mentioned in the budget.

A provision of Rs 21.25 crore has been made in the budget as ward planning fund at the rate of 25 lakh rupees per ward. Along with this, 50 percent of the property tax amount will also be spent on the development works of the wards.

A provision has also been made in the budget to keep the corporation chairman fund at Rs 2 crore . The same amount was there last time as well. This amount is Rs 5 crore for the mayor. This amount has increased from last year. There is also a provision of funds for zone chairmen, so councillors will also be able to get works up to Rs 1 lakh done from their funds.

Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai responded to the budget and said Encroachment is definitely increasing in the city. But, the staff of the Municipal Corporation goes to remove the encroachment, and a call comes from somewhere.

On the issue of property tax, MIC member Ravindra Yeti made a scathing attack on those councilors of the opposition, who were talking about increasing the councilor fund. He said that two laws will not be allowed in Bhopal. Is Bhopal India-Pakistan? We collect 80% of the property tax, but there are many wards where only 5% tax is being received. Whereas sufficient amount is received for the ward. Now we will not let this happen. If we have collected the money, then the amount will be spent in our ward only.

On property tax, MIC member Manoj Rathore said that property tax is not coming from the old city. The condition of many wards is not good. Councilors want that facilities should be increased, more money should be spent, but they are not depositing the property tax. If they do this, then I will spend my entire fund in that ward. On this, Chairman Suryavanshi said that the corporation should run a campaign and get the property tax deposited.

Senior Congress councilor Yogendra Singh Guddu Chauhan said that even copying requires intelligence. It seems that the officers have given a photocopy of the previous budget. Nothing has been changed.

Ravindra Yati said - before making allegations, think carefully.

MIC member Ravindra Yati surrounded the opposition on the issue of corruption. He said - the opposition must think carefully before making allegations. The amount of the MIC member is not his own, it is spent in public interest only. Therefore, if the opposition makes allegations, then think once.

Senior Congress councilor Mohammad Sarwar raised the issue of corruption and said that tenders are being given to big firms in a fraudulent manner. Officers do not listen at all. There is a mess in the accounts department. There was also a debate with MIC member Jitendra Shukla on this issue.

BJP councilor Geeta Mali raised the issue of encroachment in the meeting. He said that there is illegal encroachment in the entire city. There are big encroachments. It should be removed immediately.

MIC member and Ward 64 BJP councilor Chhaya Thakur stood up and said that I am the minister of my department, but the officers do not give me the correct information of my own department. This is wrong. The public asks and the opposition also files RTI. How do I answer?

Councilor Pappu Vilas demanded that work up to Rs 1 lakh should be done without grant. He said that I will request the mayor to reduce the time limit for construction work.

BJP councilor of ward 53 Pratap Vare said that this time also the tax has not been increased in the budget. This is good. With this, we will also not get abused if we go to the ward.

BJP senior councilor Surendra Vadika demanded that the government should give a separate fund of Rs 1 thousand crore as it is the body of the capital.

MIC member Chhaya Thakur said the budget is very good. The budget is going to develop the city. Provisions have been made in the budget for every sector.

Archana Parmar said that the budget is very good. The mayor has given rights to the councilors. Now we can get development work done in our ward ourselves.
