State President of Bharatiya Janata Party and MP Vishnudutt Sharma on Friday attended the function organized at Bhanpur, Kekadia Gram Panchayat of Phanda district on the occasion of Tribal Pride Day.
Paying tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on this occasion, he said that today is the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. He was called 'Dharti Aaba' on the basis of the work he did in the interest of tribal society and culture.
Bhagwan Birsa Munda, born in the tribal society in a remote area of ??present-day Jharkhand, had sounded the trumpet of revolution against the British. Today is a day of pride for all of us and I wish and congratulate the citizens of the state and party workers on Tribal Pride Day. Chairman of National Tribal Commission Antarsingh Arya also addressed the program. Sharma, while recalling the contribution made by Bhagwan Birsa Munda for the country and tribal society, said that Bhagwan Birsa Munda took forward the freedom struggle against the British. He not only fought to oust the British from the country, he also struggled to save the rights of the tribals and their culture.
At that time, Bhagwan Birsa Munda started opposing the way the British government wanted to impose a religion and culture on Indians while studying in school.
This is the reason that today the entire country along with the tribal society is giving him God-like respect. State President Sharma said that to honor the work done by Bhagwan Birsa Munda for the country and society, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi started celebrating his birth anniversary as Tribal Pride Day from Madhya Pradesh itself. The central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Madhya Pradesh government led by Mohan Yadav are making efforts at their respective levels to protect the interests of the tribes and for their welfare.
He said that Bhagwan Birsa Munda was a child of this land and he was the pride of the entire country. Today, in every corner of the country and the state, Bharatiya Janata Party workers are celebrating Tribal Pride Day and are paying tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda by remembering him.Sharma said that today from Bihar, the Prime Minister along with crores of tribal brothers and sisters and the entire country have celebrated Tribal Pride Day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released a postage stamp of Rs. 150 on the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
The Prime Minister honoured the family members of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and launched the Bharti Aba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan worth Rs. 75000 crore for the overall upliftment of the entire country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the gift of a big memorial and museum in the memory of Shankar Shah and Raghunath Shah in Chhindwara and Jabalpur. The Prime Minister has announced to build forests and gardens in the memory of Bhagwan Birsa Munda in tribal dominated blocks.
