People can now receive the adult BCG vaccine, used for TB prevention, at all health centers of Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC).

Each health center will administer the BCG vaccine for one week. This initiative began on July 8 at Health Center No. 1 in Kainchi Chhola.

Dr. Manisha Shrivastava, the Acting Director of BMHRC, stated that the Government of India has set a goal to eliminate TB from the country by 2025. To achieve this goal, the government is taking several necessary steps, including launching a campaign to vaccinate adults with the BCG vaccine nationwide.

The adult BCG vaccine is highly effective in preventing TB and is completely safe.Dr. Shrivastava mentioned that a large number of patients come to BMHRC health centers for treatment. To ensure they do not have to go elsewhere for the vaccine, BCG vaccination camps are being set up at all health centers.

She further explained that the vaccination program at BMHRC is being conducted with the support of the Health Department, Govt. of MP. The vaccines are being provided by the Madhya Pradesh government, while the necessary staff for administering the vaccine is being provided by BMHRC.

• Health Center No. 1 (Kainchi Chhola): July 8 to July 13

• Health Center No. 2 (Station Bajaria) : July 15 to July 20

• Health Center No. 3 (Chandbad): July 22 to July 27

• Health Center No. 4 (Teela Jamalpura): July 29 to August 3

• Health Center No. 5 (Ginnori): August 5 to August 10

• Health Center No. 6 (Itwara Road): August 12 to August 17

• Health Center No. 7 (Karond): August 19 to August 24

• Health Center No. 8 (Bal Vihar): August 26 to August 31
