The East Singhbhum district administration has finalized arrangements for the counting of votes in the Vidhan Sabha General Election 2024. Scheduled for November 23, the counting will be conducted at the Jamshedpur Co-operative College campus, the designated centre for all six assembly constituencies in the district. Special focus has been placed on managing the varying number of counting rounds required for each constituency.
Each of the six assembly constituencies in East Singhbhum will undergo a different number of counting rounds, reflecting the size and distribution of polling stations: Baharagora (44): 19 rounds for 264 polling stations.Ghatsila (ST) (45): 20 rounds for 291 polling stations. Potka (ST) (46): 21 rounds for 326 polling stations. Jugsalai (SC) (47): 20 rounds for 381 polling stations. Jamshedpur East (48): 21 rounds for 303 polling stations. Each constituency will have a separate hall equipped with 14 to 20 counting tables, depending on the number of rounds. The allocation is designed to facilitate smooth and efficient counting while ensuring transparency.
Robust Security Measures in Place: A three-tier security system has been implemented to safeguard the counting process: Outer Layer: Managed by the District Police Force. Middle Layer: Secured by Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP) personnel. Inner Layer: Guarded by paramilitary forces.
Entry into the campus will be strictly regulated. Only authorized personnel, including candidates, counting agents, and staff with valid passes, will be permitted.
To ensure integrity, the use of electronic devices inside counting halls is banned. Only authorized officials and media representatives will be allowed to carry phones and cameras within designated areas, such as the media cell located in the campus library.
To avoid congestion, vehicles belonging to candidates, election agents, and media personnel will be parked inside the college campus. Political workers' vehicles will be parked outside the Sacred Heart Convent School, with further movement restricted to foot traffic beyond the Russi Modi Centre of Excellence.
District Election Officer Ananya Mittal and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal have assured smooth operations on counting day. Supervisors and assistants have been appointed to oversee the process, addressing issues promptly.
