Aspects of Rani Durgavati to be included in school curriculum

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said that the brave Rani Durgavati not only defeated Akbar’s army thrice but also made many innovations in the field of good governance and water management. She provided a people-oriented governance system to the region. The flyover passing through Jabalpur Airport and Madan Mahal will be known after Rani Durgavati. The state government will also try to get permission from the Government of India for a stadium in the name of Rani Durgavati in the Garh. Ponds and water structures in the area will also be renovated on priority basis as a tribute to her bravery and valour. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Akbar’s era was a difficult one, on one hand Maharana Pratap was fighting with him and on the other hand, the brave Rani Durgavati fought against Akbar’s army in Vananchal. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed the program organized in Jabalpur on the Balidan Divas of Rani Durgavati.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that to familiarize the country and the world with the bravery and the innovations she made for good governance, her life will be added to the school curriculum and seminars will also be organized on these subjects. A reward of Rs 5 lakh has also been announced for bringing out the various aspects of the heroic queen. Cultural and intellectual events will also be organized every month in the state including Jabalpur. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the first cabinet was organized in Jabalpur to show respect and gratitude to Rani Durgavati in her 500th birth centenary year. Continuous work is going on under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to acquaint the general public with the untouched aspects of the life struggle of personalities like the brave queen Rani Durgavati, who sacrificed her life for the respect and protection of Indian culture, civilization, and traditions.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Veerangana Rani Durgavati and Rani Avantibai Lodhi have been expressions of women power. They have proved that whether it is war or governance, women did not lag. President Smt. Draupadi Murmu, from a tribal background, has made not only the country but the world aware of the potential of Indian women. The state government is dedicated to the welfare of the weaker sections.

Yadav today offered prayers and paid tributes at the Samadhi site of Rani Durgavati of the Gondwana Empire, a symbol of indomitable bravery, valour and self-respect, at Narai Nala on her 461st Balidan Divas. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav garlanded the statue of the queen at the Samadhi site amidst slogans of Rani Durgavati Amar Rahe.

Chief Minister Yadav offered prayers to Badadev, the deity of the tribal community. The Chief Minister also paid floral tributes to Veeranarayan, son of Queen Durgavati, at the Samadhi site itself.

The Baiga tribal dancer troupe presented a dance and welcomed Chief Minister Dr. Yadav at the Samadhi site. Tribal dancers made the Chief Minister wear Khumri. Dr. Yadav also appeared in a different style on this occasion. He danced to the beats of Madal with the tribal dancers who had come from Mohgaon, Mandla.

The Chief Minister cordially met the members of the Baiga dancer troupe. He also announced to give Rs 5,000 to each artist included in the team.

State Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh, Tribal Affairs Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah, MLAs Sushil Kumar Tiwari Indu, Santosh Varkade, Dr. Abhilash Pandey and Neeraj Singh, former MLA Smt. Nandini Maravi, Subhash Tiwari Ranu was also present in the event.
