ASI suspended for laxity in verification

An Assistant Inspector of Police was suspended in Bhopal during investigation of Bangladeshi man getting a passport made on the address of a mosque located in Jahangirabad area of Bhopal.

After this fraud surfaed in the year 2022 investigation of the Union Home Ministry, then Bhopal Police was asked to investigate.

The investigation revealed that the ASI had verified it without visiting the address. The ASI has been suspended.

According to the police, Biplab Paul is originally from Bangladesh. He had applied for a passport in the year 2022. He had described himself as a native of Harda, while he had attached an Aadhar card and other documents with the address of Vasundhara Bank Colony. On October 26, 2022, Jahangirabad police station received an application for police verification.

Acting ASI Shivnath Yadav had verified it. On this basis, Biplab's passport was made. When the Union Home Ministry investigated, it was found that the Bangladeshi had got this passport made on a fake address. After investigation, the ASI has been suspended. Earlier around 16-17 years ago, fake passports of underworld don Abu Salem and actress Monica Bedi were made on Bhopal address. The verification was done by Kohefiza police. After the matter was revealed, a case was registered against them in Kohefiza police station.
