Anup Kumar took the charge of Executive Director (ED), SAIL safety Organisation (SSO), at Ispat Bhawan, Doranda, Ranchi today.
An Alumni of St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi and BIT Sindri Kumar joined SAIL in 1991 at ISP, Burnpur Steel Plant. By dint of his unflinching services to SAIL, he became the Head of Personnel at ISP in 2022 and subsequently became ED (Collieries & CCSO Division) at Chasnala.
His contributions to SAIL have been immense at Burnpur, Bokaro and Chasnala. He started with Iron Making and served in Blast Furnaces of Burnpur for 20 years. Later he contributed to Rolling Mills and instrumental in rolling of Bulb Bar used by the Indian Navy which was hitherto imported. He led the Waste to Wealth Journey by gainfully clearing the fines and thus generating a profit of Rs. 450 crores in Burnpur.
At Bokaro he was instrumental in implementing the prestigious GOI program UDAN-II by comprehensive renovation of Bokaro Airport. He implemented substantial cost control by obviating the Propane plant for high calorific value. As the Head of Personnel he introduced a novel Insurance plan for contractual workers, which was adopted by other private Sector companies. SAIL Ranchi Units employees wished him the very best in his pursuits in his new assignment.
