An advanced ultrasound surgery machine based on the Harmonic Scalpel technology was inaugurated at Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) by Dr. B.B. Karunamay, the hospital's in-charge. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Chief Medical Officer Dr. A. Mandal, Dr. Anand, Dr. Varsha Ghanekar, and senior doctors including Dr. S.C. Kumar, Dr. Anand Prakash, Dr. Nilay, and Dr. A.K. Dam, along with their respective teams.
The Harmonic Scalpel is an advanced ultrasound technology that simultaneously cuts and seals tissues and blood vessels using ultrasound energy. This technology can be utilized in both laparoscopic and open surgeries, reducing operation time and enhancing patient recovery.
Laparoscopic surgery, also known as keyhole surgery, is commonly employed by medical professionals for various conditions related to the digestive system, urinary disorders, female reproductive issues, and cancers. It offers several benefits including reduced pain, faster recovery, shorter hospital stays, and fewer wound-related complications.
