Administration ramps up efforts to clear pending schemes

Wednesday, 24 July 2024 | PNS | Jamshedpur

In a significant development, a review meeting was convened today to assess the progress of schemes funded by the MLA head and DC bill, following directives from District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner  Ananya Mittal. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Development Commissioner  Manish Kumar, was aimed at addressing delays and ensuring the timely execution of essential projects.

The discussion centered on reviewing pending schemes from the fiscal years 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-23.  Kumar emphasized the urgency of completing these schemes and submitting the necessary DC bills without further delay. For the fiscal year 2024-25, he set a deadline of July 31, 2024, for the submission of estimates for recommended schemes to the District Office.

Among the key issues addressed was the completion of pending schemes. For the Baharagora Assembly Constituency, the immediate completion of two schemes from FY 2021-22 was mandated. In the Ghatsila Assembly Constituency, four schemes from the same fiscal year are to be finalized promptly. The Jugsalai Assembly Constituency was instructed to complete one scheme from FY 2021-22, with a required site change. In Jamshedpur East, the Junior Engineer reported that sites for two schemes from FY 2021-22 have been selected, with work expected to be completed soon.

The meeting also focused on resolving site disputes that have caused delays. Schemes affected by these disputes must be expedited by obtaining recommendations from local MLAs and selecting alternative sites.

In terms of municipal and block-level responsibilities, Mango Municipal Corporation has been directed to submit DC bills for seven schemes from FY 2021-22. The JNAC was given a deadline of two days to submit DC bills for eight out of ten pending schemes. The Block Development Officer in Musabani has been instructed to refund the amount for one scheme, while Potka is also required to refund the amount for one scheme.

Furthermore, the Executive Engineers for both the Rural Development Special Division and NREP in Jamshedpur were directed to complete 50% of the Parliament Fund schemes.

Deputy Development Commissioner  Manish Kumar highlighted the critical need for expediting the completion of pending schemes to ensure that benefits reach the intended beneficiaries. He stressed that any schemes hindered by site disputes should be fast-tracked through coordination with local MLAs for prompt site selection.

The meeting was attended by various departmental officers, reflecting a collaborative effort to streamline the implementation of these vital schemes. The officers were reminded of the strict timelines and the necessity for adherence to ensure efficient governance and optimal use of resources.

In conclusion, today’s review meeting underscores the administration's unwavering commitment to the effective and timely execution of developmental schemes. The directives issued aim to resolve existing bottlenecks and accelerate progress, enhancing public welfare initiatives and improving the quality of life for residents in the region. Continuous monitoring and follow-ups by the district administration will be essential in achieving these objectives efficiently.
