Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the modern-day Bhagirath in the context of Madhya Pradesh. He stated that just as the Ganga River, brought to earth through the efforts of King Bhagirath, gave new life to everyone, similarly, Prime Minister Modi has initiated a new era in India. How conditions can improve over 10-12 years through positive thinking and efforts is best exemplified by Prime Minister Shri Modi’s tenure, and we are all witnesses to it.
Yadav was addressing a programme organised at Khajuraho, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stone for the country’s first Ken-Betwa National Project on Wednesday.
Yadav said that Bundelkhand, soil of brave warriors has always been affected by drought. Previous governments did not prioritize the development of Bundelkhand. Former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee dreamed of making the region drought-free and ensuring adequate water supply.
Modi has taken the initiative to realize this dream. The inauguration of the Ken-Betwa Link Project and just a few days ago, the historic launch of the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project worth Rs 35,000 crore mark significant milestones. These projects will provide drinking water and irrigation facilities to the Chambal, Malwa, and the entire Bundelkhand region, along with water supply for industries. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Modi had visited the Bundelkhand region three times previously. During these visits, he understood the hardships of the people of Bundelkhand, and today, he has given them gifts equivalent to celebrating Holi and Diwali. On behalf of the people of the state, Yadav expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Modi for these generous initiatives.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Shri Modi, good governance is being ensured in the state. Along with caring for the poor, youth and farmers, Prime Minister Modi has also strengthened democracy. This is why it became possible for a person from a poor farming family to become the Chief Minister. He thanked Prime Minister Shri Modi for presenting an ideal governance model that equally prioritizes the government, society, and administration. Such a vision transforms people’s lives. By approving two major river projects for Madhya Pradesh within eight days, Prime Minister Shri Modi has sent a clear message to the states that our natural resources should be used for mutual prosperity and not for narrow self-interests. As a result of Prime Minister Shri Modi’s innovative initiatives, the country’s first Omkareshwar Solar Project is being inaugurated. This will pave the way for adequate power supply through solar energy. Chief Minister said that with Prime Minister Shri Modi’s visit to Madhya Pradesh on the completion of one year of the state government, a sense of pride and joy has been instilled among the people of the state.
Yadav said that the Jankalyan Parv, organized to mark one year of the state government, is being concluded. During this Parv, which began on December 11 (Gita Jayanti), the state received gifts every day. Prime Minister Shri Modi’s gift of the Rs 35,000 crore Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project and the Bhoomi-Poojan of the Rs 44,000 crore Ken-Betwa Link Project are immensely significant for the state.
On the concluding day of the Public Welfare Festival, projects worth approximately Rs 75,000 crore from river-linking initiatives, along with Bhoomi-Poojan and inaugurations of projects worth more than Rs 30,000 crore, took place. In total, projects exceeding Rs 1.10 lakh crore are taking shape in the state today.
Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Modi believes that our government should be accountable to the people, and the people should receive their rightful benefits.
