The Maan Vandana Yatra of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) was accorded a warm welcome on its arrival in the state capital on Friday.
MLA Bhagwan Das Sabnani, BMC Chairman Kishan Suryavanshi, and the head of the Karuna Dham Ashram, Sudesh Shandilya, welcomed student activists who embarked on the yatra from Maheshwar on November 13.
Following the reception at the state ABVP office, the yatra continued to Sarojini Naidu College, where a welcome programme was organised. Prant Sanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Ashok Pandey, and Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai attended the event.While addressing the gathering, Ashok Pandey spoke about the life of Ahilyabai Holkar, describing her as a divine figure who chose justice over personal ties.
He praised her reign as exemplary and emphasised that it serves as an inspiration for all. He also highlighted the religious sites built by Ahilyabai, which continue to inspire people.
Malti Rai said Ahilyabai was a woman who not only formed an army of women but personally trained them. ABVP city in-charge Shivam Jat said the yatra would conclude at the national convention of the student body in Gorakhpur on November 22.
