8 districts record temperatures above 45 degree Celcius in MP

Over 8 districts have reported day temperatures above 45 degree celsius. Rajgarh and Ratlam recorded day temperatures above 46 degree celsius.

In the wake of intense hot conditions, electricity maintenance work at several places have been suspended by the department.

Nautapa has started from today 25th May with the Sun entering Rohini Nakshatra from Kritika. It is extremely hot throughout the state. There will be intense heat till June 2, because the sun's rays will fall directly on the earth. There is a red alert of heat wave in Guna, Ashoknagar and Niwari on the very first day.

Due to extreme heat in Bhopal, electricity maintenance work has been postponed till May 28. Industrial coolers have been installed to cool the transformers on the LIG grid in Indore. Even in Mandsaur, fans had to be installed to cool the transformer. Due to the heat in Shajapur, the health of a 70 year old man deteriorated. This was the reason of his death.

Here, in Malanpur of Bhind, smoke started coming out from the engine of a bus due to the heat. The bus was immediately evacuated. The temple committee has installed coolers in Nandi Hall for the devotees reaching Ujjain to have darshan of Mahakal. Water is being poured on the roads in the temple premises.

Here, patients in Guna District Hospital have to carry fans from home. Fountains have been installed in the cow shed in Dewas.

Senior scientist of IMD Bhopal, Dr. Vedprakash Singh said, there is a severe heat alert in the state till May 31. There will be intense heat in Gwalior, Chambal, Indore-Ujjain divisions. The effect of heat wave, i.e. hot winds, is expected in other districts also.

Shopkeepers are continuously spraying water on flowers at the bus stand in Chhindwara. Vijay Soni of Phool Bhandar told that due to heat, flower garlands wither quickly. To avoid damage, water has to be sprayed. Still there is loss.

In Tikamgarh, the mercury was recorded at 44 degrees on the first day of Nautapa. Due to the heat, smoke started coming out from the DP installed under the transformer near State Bank at 4 pm. After some time sparks started coming out.
