A 36-year-old man died while his brother escaped with injuries after their car overturned after being hit by another speeding car at Arera Hills late in the night on Thursday.
In the accident, the deceased was identified as Kapil Jethani who runs a mobile phone business in MP Nagar while younger brother Naveeb and the driver of the other car were injured.
According to the police, Kapil Jethani lived in Bhagyashree Apartment Lalghati. He used to operate a mobile shop in MP Nagar. After closing the shop, he was going home late at night in his car with his brother Naveen. His Fortuner car was hit hard by another from the left side in Arera Hills in front of Bhopal Court.
Kapil's car overturned in the accident. Due to this he died on the spot. He suffered serious head injuries when his head hit the windscreen. His brother Naveen sustained minor injuries. He has been admitted to a private hospital.
After the car overturned the deceased and his brother were trapped. People rescued Naveen and took him to the hospital. Kapil was trapped in the car and died on the spot. His body was badly trapped between the steering wheel and the seat. Police have seized both the cars and started further investigation.
Eyewitnesses said that the car's airbags of the deceased failed to open while the airbag of another car opened which saved the life of the driver.
Kapil used to operate a mobile shop in MP Nagar Zone 2. He was very fond of wearing gold. For this reason he is known as Gold Baba. They have two children, Divya and Vibhaan.
Meanwhile, a 52-year-old man died after his bike was hit by a truck at Piplani intersection in the morning on Friday.
According to Piplani police, Kamta Patel of Jai Jyoti Homes Tagore Nagar left home on Friday morning for Raisen to meet a relative and later his bike was hit by a truck in Piplani at around 10 in the morning.
Police reached the spot after receiving the information and started further investigation. Police are searching for the accused truck driver who escaped leaving the truck on the spot.
