Three kanwariyas died in Mathura on Monday when their motorcycle collided with a tractor-trolley in Nagla Parasauti area under Surir police station.
Inspector Sanjeev Kant Mishra said that all three kanwariyas were from Bijau village under Surir police station.
They were identified as 18-year-old Manav, his 21-year-old friend Ved Prakash, and 20-year-old friend Naresh. They had left their homes on Sunday evening with their 22 companions.
They had gone to Rajghat in Bulandshahr in separate vehicles. From there, they took Gangajal and reached Gopeshwar Mahadev temple in Vrindavan on Monday morning. After performing jalabhishek, everyone was returning to their homes. Naresh, Manav and Ved Prakash were riding on a motorcycle and all three died on the spot after being hit by a tractor-trolley in Nagla Parasauti.
Ved Prakash was a diploma engineer and currently working in a company in Gurgaon. Manav used to work in Palwal. According to the inspector, information is being gathered about Naresh’s family.
A case was registered and all the three bodies were sent for post-mortem. Efforts were also being made to arrest the accused tractor driver who managed to flee from the scene of the accident.
