A tragic accident occurred on Monday morning near Platinum Plaza at Mata Mandir, when a speeding car hit a bike, resulting in the death of a 20-year-old youth and leaving his mother with severe injuries. The car driver fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind.
The victims, identified as Ankit Kushwaha and his mother Somvati Bai, were on their way home to Panchsheel Nagar after purchasing vegetables from Karond Mandi. Both were rushed to Hamidia Hospital, where Ankit was declared dead, while his mother, Somvati Bai, remains in critical condition. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
According to the police, Ankit worked at a petrol pump in Ratibad, while his mother ran a vegetable shop outside their home. Tragically, their bike was struck by a speeding car near Platinum Plaza while the driver attempted to overtake. Ankit died at the scene, and his mother was severely injured.
The family described Ankit as the primary financial support, as he was the eldest son of the family, which includes two younger brothers, Luv and Kush. Ankit’s father is a laborer.
This spot, near Platinum Plaza, has gained notoriety for being an accident-prone area as last month, on November 12, two youths Bhavesh Sanghani (23) and Aryan Rai (24) were killed in a similar incident when their scooter was struck by an unidentified vehicle at the same location. In both cases, the drivers responsible for the accidents fled the scene, leaving the authorities searching for them.
The police have seized the car involved in Monday’s accident and are actively searching for the driver. The ongoing investigations aim to hold the responsible individuals accountable and address the growing concerns about safety at this dangerous location.
