2 smugglers carrying ganja worth Rs 19.40 lakh arrested

RPF has arrested two smugglers from Hatia railway station who were going to Bihar from Odisha with ganja worth Rs 19.40 lakh. The RPF team took this action on Saturday night. The arrested smugglers include Vinod Ram and Dashrath Gupta.

Both are residents of West Champaran district of Bihar. 19.4 kg of ganja has been recovered from them, whose estimated value is Rs 19.40 lakh.

During interrogation, both the smugglers told the RPF team that they had reached Hatia with ganja from Sambalpur, Odisha. The ganja was to be sold in Bihar at a high price. They were planning to change trains from Ranchi station. But they were caught. Both admitted that they have supplied ganja in Bihar many times in the past. Both have also given information about the members of their gang.RPF gave this information on Sunday.

Meanwhile, three criminals involved in HDFC bank employee murder case were arrested on Saturday. 


An HDFC bank employee was shot dead near Harmu fruit market in Argora police station area. This incident happened late on Friday night. After the incident, on the instructions of SSP Chandan Sinha, the police team took action and arrested three criminals within two hours of the incident.

Among the arrested criminals, apart from a criminal named Danish, two other criminals are included. The police have also recovered the pistol used in the incident from these criminals. Confirming the case, the SSP said that three criminals have been arrested.

All three criminals are residents of Hindpidi area. All three consume drugs on the banks of Harmu river and often carry out robbery there. These criminals looted Abhishek and his other friend who had come to buy ganja. Abhishek's mobile was expensive. He did not want to give his mobile to them. When he protested against giving the mobile, a criminal started chasing him with a pistol. Then he was shot and his mobile was taken away.

The deceased Abhishek Singh lives in Argora Housing Colony. He was working in the loan department of HDFC Bank's Main Road branch. Abhishek and his friend Prince stayed there on Friday night. During this, three youths stopped both the friends. The three asked Abhishek Singh and Prince - what are you doing here? Come, take out whatever stuff you have. After this, the criminals pointed a pistol at them. The criminals first looted Prince's mobile phone and money at gunpoint. After this, they tried to loot Abhishek's mobile phone too. Due to the mobile phone being expensive, Abhishek was not ready to give it to the criminals. He started running, during this time the criminals chased him and shot him and fled from there on foot after looting the mobile phone.

After the incident, Prince informed the police about the incident on 'Dial 100'.....
