Aishbagh police have arrested two accused who cheated a shop keeper to the tune of Rs 1 lakh by providing fake gold.
Police have taken the accused into custody after registering a case of cheating.
Nilesh Punjabi, who lives in Pushpa Nagar, runs a gas refilling shop. On November 3, two youths came to Nilesh's shop. They introduced themselves as labourers and said that they have gold beads, which they got while working in Jhansi. They want to sell these because they need money. When Nilesh asked the price of the garland, they told him that its price was about Rs 7 lakhs.
Nilesh said that he did not have that much money, if you want to sell it, give it to me for Rs 1 lakh after little reluctance, the youths agreed to sell it for Rs 1 lakh. The youths provided two beads and gave them for checking. These beads were found to be of real gold. After the deal was finalized, Nilesh started arranging for money. He had Rs 60000 and for the remaining Rs 40000 he mortgaged his car. In this way, he arranged Rs 1 lakh and provided it to the accused.
