18.7 lakh voters to cast ballots in East Singhbhum on Nov 13

The notification for the Assembly Election 2024 has been officially issued, marking the commencement of the electoral process. At a press conference held at the Collectorate Auditorium in Jamshedpur, District Election Officer  Ananya Mittal shared important details related to the upcoming election. Deputy Election Officer Priyanka Singh and District Public Relations Officer  Panchanan Oraon were also present.

As per the notification, candidates will be able to file their nominations until October 25, with scrutiny of nominations scheduled for October 28. The last date for candidates to withdraw their nominations is October 30. Voting will take place on November 13, and the counting of votes is set for November 23.

In the first phase of voting, a total of 18,73,589 voters will cast their ballots across 1913 booths, distributed among 1145 polling stations within the district. The District Election Officer emphasized that voting hours will vary at different polling stations. For some polling stations in constituencies such as 44-Baharagora, 45-Ghatshila, 46-Potka, and 47-Jugsalai, voting will be conducted from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, while the remaining stations in these constituencies will extend voting until 5:00 pm. For Jamshedpur East and Jamshedpur West, polling will take place from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The following details were provided regarding polling times in specific assembly constituencies: 44-Baharagora: Voting at 5 polling stations (nos. 9-11, 70, 88) will be from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, while the remaining 259 stations will remain open until 5:00 pm.

45-Ghatshila (ST): Voting at 23 polling stations (nos. 1, 26-28, 94, 96-98, 116, 117, 119-121, 179, 180, 184-186, 191, 223, 227, 228, 257) will take place from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with the rest of the 268 stations extending until 5:00 pm.

46-Potka (ST): 7 polling stations (nos. 271, 273, 274, 303, 306, 314, 318) will operate from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, while the remaining 319 stations will remain open until 5:00 pm.

47-Jugsalai (SC): 17 polling stations (nos. 49, 51, 52, 60, 62, 63, 127, 128, 139, 150-152, 155, 357, 367, 380, 381) will close at 4:00 pm, with the remaining 364 polling stations open until 5:00 pm.

 Mittal also announced that the maximum limit of expenditure for a candidate in the assembly election has been fixed at ₹40 lakh, ensuring transparency and fairness in campaign spending.
