Ambulance services in Jharkhand remained stalled for the second day on Monday. Patients are facing a lot of problems due to the ambulance being stalled. Ambulance employees are angry due to non-payment of salary and have gone on strike. Due to this, the operation of about 500 ambulances operating in the state has stopped.
Hundreds of employees surrounded the residence of Health Minister Banna Gupta in Morhabadi. Employees say that when the Secunderabad based company EMRI Green Health Services was working in place of the old company M/s Ziqitza Health Care Limited.
After the tender ended, M/s Ziqitza has not paid the salary for two months. At the same time, after the tender of EMRI Green Health Services also ended, the work has been handed over to the new agency M/s Samman Foundation. Employees fear that after the change of agency, the salary of the month of September may also be pending. At the same time, they say that they do not even get the facility of PF. There is no fixed time for work, despite having a 12-hour duty, they have to work for longer hours.
At the same time, the employees are also demanding permanent employment. They say that until their demands are met, they will remain on indefinite strike.
Around 1500 employees are associated with this agency in the state. On Saturday itself, the employees associated with the agency started affecting the work. But its effect started showing from Sunday. At the same time, EMRI Green also has a pending amount of Rs 40 crore. For the payment of which, continuous correspondence is going on with the Health Department.
