Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao said on Friday that Swami Vivekananda played a key role in restoring national prestige and glory.

Sao spoke about Vivekananda’s teachings regarding the importance of patriotism and national unity.

He highlighted his historic Chicago speech in which Vivekananda drew attention to Indian values and spirituality.

Sao was addressing a programme held to mark Swami Vivekananda Jayanti as well as National Youth Day in Bilaspur district.

The programme was organized by the Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari.

On this occasion, Sao flagged off the 'Rashtra Swabhiman Yatra' and released a poster for the 'Utho, Jaago quiz'.

Vice Chancellor Arun Diwakar Nath Vajpayee highlighted key elements of Vivekananda's ideas.
