Hindus be united, empowered, weakness not an option: RSS

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday gave a clarion call for unity among the Hindus to strengthen the community and simultaneously stated that ‘Deep State’, ‘wokeism’ and ‘cultural Marxist’ are declared enemies of all cultural traditions.

Condemning the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, Bhagwat said that as long as the radical nature of committing atrocities out of anger persists — not only Hindus, but all minorities will be in danger. He said what is happening in Bangladesh is also a learning for Hindus in India.”If we are weak, we are inviting atrocity. Wherever we are, we need to be united and empowered and weakness is not an option,” he said.

“What happened in our neighbouring Bangladesh? It might have some immediate reasons and those who are concerned will discuss it. But the underlying issue is the repeated atrocities against Hindus. But for the first time, Hindus united to protect themselves, but as long as this radical violence persists, not just Hindus, but all minorities are in danger. They need support from Hindus from the entire world and India’s government must step in,” the RSS chief said in his Annual Vijayadashami programme at RSS Headquarters in Nagpur which also marked the beginning of centenary year as RSS was founded on this day in 1925.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Cabinet colleagues and top BJP leaders greeted RSS members on the occasion of its foundation day and said since its inception, the organisation has been doing a remarkable job of protecting Indian culture and inculcating the ideas of patriotism in youth.

Bhagwat said attempts to disturb and destabilise the country seem to be gaining momentum from all directions, while a narrative is being spread in Bangladesh to portray India as a threat, he said.

According to Bhagwat, a narrative is being spread in neighbouring Bangladesh, which recently witnessed a massive political upheaval, that India is a threat and they should join Pakistan as a defence against Bharat. Who is spreading such a narrative, he asked.

In an obvious reference to the certain Opposition parties insisting for a Caste census, Bhagwat said in a multi-party democracy, petty selfish interests have become more important than mutual harmony, pride and integrity of the nation. “Their modus operandi is to stand in support of one party and advance their destructive agenda in the name of alternative politics”, he said.

On the occasion Bhagwat described the Kolkata rape-murder as shameful and said attempts were made to protect criminals. The nexus of crime, politics and poisonous culture is ruining society, he said.

Bhagwat further said India has become stronger and more respected in the world with enhanced credibility in the last few years but sinister conspiracies are testing the country’s resolve.

The ongoing Hamas-Israel war is a cause for concern about how far the conflict will spread, he said. Bhagwat expressed satisfaction that the recent assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir were held peacefully. Pioneer News Service n Nagpur/New Delhi
