A 45-year-old man was killed and his 16 year old daughter was injured after a truck of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) mowed down their motorcycle in southeast Delhi on Monday.
According to a senior police officer, police received a call regarding a motorcycle being hit by a MCD truck near Shiv Mandir red light on Mehrauli Badarpur road near Pul Prahladpur area at 1.06 pm.
The police teams rushed to the spot and took Kuldeep and his daughter Anshika to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Trauma Centre. “Second PCR call was received at 03:36 pm regarding Medico Legal Case (MLC) from AIIMS Trauma centre of the two patients. Kuldeep was declared brought dead by the doctor and injured Anshika is under treatment,” another senior officer stated.
Moreover, the truck driver fled from the spot after the incident. The father and daughter were residents of Pul Prahladpur area. “The inspection of the spot was conducted by the Crime Team and the offending vehicle i.e. truck and accidental motorcycle have been taken in police possession,” he said.
An FIR has been registered under sections 281 (Rash driving or riding on a public way), 106(1) (Causing Death by Negligence) and 125 A (Act endangering life or personal safety of others) of BNS and further investigation is underway, the officer added.
